This has brought tears to my eyes, as many have said it's about bloody time.

Congratulations Billy Bonds we owe you gratitude more than you owe us as fans because you put such a wonderful stamp on the way this club is thought of. You sir are a legend.

A gentleman.

I'm so proud that we have Moore, Brooking and Bonds as our 3 biggest legends. They were all great footballers but more importantly humble and approachable. They are the lifeblood of this club.

Love him to bits, such a modest hero

Nice one, especially as he appreciates it himself. He says he likes the idea of his grandaughters going over there and being able to say "That's named after Grandad."

The main thing for me is it's good he's alive to see the honour, rather than waiting until he's dead, mentioning no names.

Yep. And you never got a single reply to the thread that you started on said subject, and still nobody cares.

Re: Oooooh Billy Billy
I'm pleased for Billy - the club (and Harry) treated him particularly badly for a period. Regardless of what people thought of him as a manager/coach, the way he was treated was not befitting of a man like that.

Violator,

Classic bit of footage, that. It was going to take a lot more than a bit of mud to stop Bill that day. I do like the effort from the Den Haag player, though: imagine the fuss if that happened today?!

About time and if Billy himself appreciates it who are we to argue.

I'm getting old, but I appreciate having seen Billy storming around the pitch albeit late in his career. A match v Forest when he bloodied his head particularly stands out in the memory.

About bloody time. If only we had a leader like him now.

I was at the game but don't remember it at the time, but the Den Haag game always sticks in my mind, when Bonzo runs up to take the penalty and one of their players chucks mud at him.

Fucking Beeb

"Two stands at the club's former home, the Boleyn Ground, were named after Moore and Brooking, before being transferred over to London Stadium, which West Ham rent from owners the London Legacy Development Corporation.

Like those stands, the naming only applies to match-days at the stadium which is also used to host other events."
